Pennsylvania Insurance Continuing Education Requirements

  • All licenses

    • Complete a minimum of 24 approved credit hours for that license type per each two-year license term.

  • Long Term Care -LTC

    • EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2011: All agents licensed before April 1, 2011 are required to take a one time only 8 hour Department on Long Term Care by April 1, 2012.

    • Each license term thereafter each agent must complete a 4 hour Long Term Care Partnership CE course that is approved by the department.

  • Flood Insurance Training

    • An insurance producer who sells flood insurance may satisfy the minimum training and education requirements by completing a 3-hour course related to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

  • We will notify Sircon electronically of completed hours within one business day. The licensee is required to print and keep the certificate of completion for their files.
  • License term is every two years on the last day of the licensed agents birth month.
  • Online courses
  • Independent Self-study
  • Classroom Study
  • Non Monitored Exams.
  • Final exams are Closed book.
  • A passing grade of at least 70% required to pass the course.
  • Up to 24 CE credits can be carried over per license term.
  • Courses can not be repeated in a two year renewal period.
  • Certificates of completion are available as soon as a course is completed with a passing grade. Certificates should be printed and kept on file.
  • Nonresident agents wanting to sell LTC products will have to complete the same course requirements as resident agents.
