Nevada Insurance Continuing Education Requirements

  • Producers

    • Complete a minimum of 30 continuing education (CE) credit hours during each three-year license term, including three hours of ethics training.

  • Adjusters

    • Complete a minimum of 24 continuing education (CE) credit hours during each three-year license term, including three hours of ethics training.

  • Bail

    • Complete a minimum of 3 continuing education (CE) credit hours during each three-year license term

  • Long Term Care Training

    • Agents wishing to sell Long Term Care are required to take a one time only 8 hour Department of Insurance certified course

    • Each license term thereafter each agent must complete a 4 hour Long Term Care Partnership CE course that is approved by the department.

  • Flood Insurance Training

    • An insurance producer who sells flood insurance may satisfy the minimum training and education requirements by completing a 3-hour course related to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

  • The Commissioner will exempt a licensee from the requirements for continuing education if the licensee certifies that he or she:

    • Has earned and continues to maintain his or her designation as a chartered property casualty underwriter (CPCU), chartered life underwriter (CLU), certified insurance counselor (CIC), certified financial planner (CFP) or chartered financial consultant (ChFC)

    • Has 20 years of continuous experience and has earned his or her primary source of income in the business of insurance by selling, marketing, underwriting, adjusting, practicing law, managing or regulating, or engaging in any combination of these fields of insurance.

    • The certification required by subsection 1 or 2 must be submitted to the Commissioner in an affidavit approved by the Commissioner.

  • A producer and adjuster license is issued for a three (3) year term.
  • The license is renewable at the end of the month on the third anniversary of the issuance of the license.
    • The license will expire at midnight on the last day of the month in which it is renewable.
  • A temporary emergency adjuster license term is 90 days, unless extended by the Commissioner.
    • This license is not renewable and expires at the end of the 90-day term or the extension thereof.
  • FastrackCE courses are categorized as online self-directed or self-study.
  • Exams need to be monitored by disinterested, non-related third party.
  • Final exams are closed book.
  • To get your certificate of completion, log in to our website using your username and password. Then, look at the menu on the left and find “Course History.” Your course history will list the courses you passed or failed. If you passed a course, you’ll see a “Print certificate” button on the right, allowing you to print your certificate for your records. Certificates should be printed and kept on file for 5 years.
  • FastrackCE reports your credits the next business day except holidays to Sircon. The state recognizes the date you passed/completed the exam as the date of completion. It is not based upon the day we report the hours to them.
  • Credit will not be given for a course repeated during the license term.
  • Credit hours do not carry forward to future licensing periods.
